Portland, Ore.-based Max-Viz is reporting a 35 percent uptick in 2011 shipments of its EVS-1500 enhanced vision system for rotorcraft over the previous year. The company recently handed over the 250th EVS-1500 and operators in the EMS, military and firefighting segments are seeing increased situational awareness with the equipment. One of the operators is Vancouver-based Helijet, uses EVS-1500 in its Sikorsky S-76C+. According to Lou Churchville, vice president of business development, Max-Viz anticipates up to 50 percent more EVS operators in 2012 over current-year figures.
