By Staff Writer | May 24, 2012

The U.S. Army's Flying Tigers of the 1st Battalion, 229th Aviation Regiment has completed its transfer from Fort Hood, Texas to Gray Army Airfield at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington. The 1-229 AR flew six Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawks and 10 Boeing AH-64 Apaches more than 2,000 miles over three days to arrive at Gray Army Airfield. The move marks the first time that JBLM has housed Apaches. The remaining helicopters will make the trip to JBLM over the next few months. —Compiled from an article by Sgt. Austan Owen
