The U.S. Naval Air Systems Command has issued a $74.4-million contract to Bell-Boeing for one CV-22 that will replace a lost tiltrotor in the Air Force fleet. Plans call for an estimated 56 percent of the work to take place at Boeing’s plant in Philadelphia, with 43 percent at Bell-Boeing’s Joint Project office in Amarillo, Texas and the remaining 1 percent in El Paso. Completion of the CV-22 is projected for November 2014.
