The FAA has granted Canadian EMS operator Ornge permission to fly its helicopters in U.S. airspace as needed. Prior to this, the operator was restricted from entering U.S. airspace except for patient transfers conducted by fixed-wing aircraft. Ornge’s rotorcraft fleet is now allowed to move patients from a scene in one country to a hospital in the other when proximity between the two are of critical importance.
