Indonesia Seeks to Purchase Boeing AH-64Ds

The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has informed Congress of Indonesia's desire to purchase Boeing AH-64D Apaches. The estimated value of the agreement under the foreign military sales (FMS) program is $1.4 billion, which covers the purchase of eight Block III AH-64D Apache Longbows. Indonesia would also receive 19 T-700-GE701D engines, equipment, logistical support, parts and training under the proposed deal. The Indonesian government intends to use the helicopters for border defense, counter-terrorism and counter-piracy missions.
