Major military, air medical and SAR operators will be among the more than 100 exhibitors at the 5th biennial Dubai Helishow, set to kick off Tuesday, Nov. 6 at Grand Stand, Meydan Racecourse. Organizers are expecting an estimated 2,000 visitors to the Middle Eastern helicopter souk, or marketplace.
Dubai Helishow has, in fact, now grown to be the world’s third largest international show for the helicopter industry, behind only HAI’s Heli-Expo and the U.K.’s Helitech. With numerous Gulf Arab states embarking on military modernization programs and the military helicopter market being particularly robust, the military side will be well represented. Both Qatar and Saudi Arabia have already requested assistance in purchasing large numbers of AH-64Ds and MH/UH-60s. Both Boeing and Sikorsky will have a military presence at the show. Sikorsky has arranged for a UH-60 from the UAE Air Force to be exhibited at the show, while Boeing will talk about its international programs such as the AH-6i.
