The Night Vision Awards selection committee is accepting nominations through Friday, Feb. 15 for the 2013 candidates that will be honored at an “award show” during Heli-Expo, a change in format for this year’s event.
Aviation Specialties Unlimited (ASU)’s Hannah Gordon, director of sales and marketing, explains that the committee made the switch to a once-per-year awards show format “to celebrate more recipients together instead having smaller ceremonies throughout the year.”
Over the past two years, winners of the Night Vision Awards were recognized throughout the year, with ceremonies taking place during Heli-Expo, the Airborne Law Enforcement Association (ALEA) Conference & Exhibition and the Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC).
Past winners include the Atlanta Police, EraMed/Geisinger Life Flight, Fairfax County Police, HealthNet, Irish Air Corps, Las Vegas Police, LA County Fire, Med-Trans, Metro Aviation, REACH Air Services, STAT MedEvac, San Diego Police, Texas DPS and Travis County STAR Flight.
Boise, Idaho-based ASU has sponsored the awards since 2011, and Night Flight Concepts of Bedford, Texas joined as a co-sponsor in 2012. Nomination packets are available at www.nightvisionawards.com
