The energy attenuating seats are designed to protect rotorcraft operators from fatal injuries in the event of a crash or other incident, and have been certified as meeting FAA civilian and military seating system requirements.
Sikorsky, the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy have utilized the seats in helicopters for a variety of missions, according to East/West.
