Erickson has renewed two heavy lift support contracts with Helifor Canada (an affiliate of Columbia Helicopters) and Western Forest Products, which is based in Vancouver.

Western has renewed its agreement valued at between $10 and 13 million to receive aerial support using Erickson’s S-64 Aircrane for the extraction of fir and red cedar trees on remote timberlands in British Columbia and Alberta.

Helifor’s agreement, valued at $8-10 million, will use Erickson’s Aircrane to provide logging services and transmission tower construction in western Canada.

Erickson CEO Udo Rieder said the contracts further solidify the company’s position as the leading heavy-lift provider in the Canadian timber markets, where it has been operating for nearly 40 years.
