The third of eight Eurocopter EC135s has arrived at California Shock Trauma Air Rescue (Calstar) after receiving an air medical interior at Metro Aviation in Shreveport, La. Among the equipment in the helicopter, which features medical seating for three, is a light aircraft recording system (LARS) from North Flight Data Systems, Voyager Isolette litter, single external LOX, and air pump. Completions for all eight Calstar EC135s are taking place in Shreveport under the contract.
Metro Aviation has also handed over an AS350 to EagleMed, which will add the helicopter to its base in Cody, Wyo. The Wichita, Kan.-based EMS provider is a subsidiary of Air Medical Group, operating a fleet of AS350s and fixed-wing Beechcraft King Airs. The AS350 comes equipped with an EMS package including an oxygen system, flip-up seats, a medical inverter system and LEMS litter. Metro Aviation anticipates delivering a total of around 35 new aircraft during 2013.
