Bedford, Texas-based Night Flight Concepts is partnering with aviation consulting firm The Squadron to offer operational risk management (ORM) training for operators that use night vision goggles (NVGs). The one or two-day course applies to pilots, tactical flight officers (TFOs), flight paramedics, crew, maintenance personnel and administrators, teaching practical exercises about how to integrate risk management into the daily routine. Included in the course is a flight risk assessment tool (FRAT) for each individual operator. Dan Deutermann, managing director for The Squadron and a columnist for Rotor & Wing, noted that the ORM course provides “an operational layer of flight safety to new or existing operators delving into the nighttime environment to deliver their services.” Night Flight Concepts is at Booth 427-429 during the ALEA conference, which runs from July 17-19 in Orlando, Fla.
