Rolls-Royce to Repair HMX-1 V-22 Engines

The U.S. Navy has granted a $10.8-million contract to Rolls-Royce for repairs on AE1107 engines in the Marine Corps Bell-Boeing MV-22 fleet. The agreement specifies 11 low power repairs for the turboshaft engines. The deal also includes two months of site support for Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1) in Quantico, Va. Rolls-Royce will complete around 70 percent of the work in Oakland, Calif., with 20 percent in Indianapolis and the remaining 10 percent at Quantico. The arrangement runs until February 2014.
