Russian Helicopters has handed over an Mi-171E to the Kazakhstan Ministry of Internal Affairs for routine patrol and search and rescue (SAR) missions. The ministry also uses the Mi-171E to transport personnel and cargo, and prefers the helicopter because of its ability to transport large numbers of people, along with different configurations. Under Russian Helicopters' contract with the ministry, Kazakhstan pilots are currently receiving theoretical and practical training at the company's Ulan-Ude plant.
