Oboronprom subsidiary Russian Helicopters is reporting the production of 303 rotorcraft during 2013, with an estimated value of more than 140 billion rubles (approximately $42.5 billion). The growing company passed a number of milestones during the past year as it continues to expand internationally while developing its product line.
According to CEO Alexander Mikheev, the manufacturer installed upwards of 800 new machines at its facilities, including retooling, plating and composite equipment. This helped to increase “output per employee” by 12.4 percent, the company claims. The order book for Russian Helicopters is full for 2014, with 73 percent of capacity spoken for in 2015, and 25 percent already sold for 2016.
