SCHOTT Advanced Optics is proud to announce VG20, an optimized filter glass for absorbing NIR radiation of LED or incandescent illumination for night vision compatible displays, controls or other illumination.
In combination with numerous LEDs, the glass can be used for the colors “NVIS white” and “NVIS green” (MIL-STD3009 or RCTA DO275). The glass has extraordinary transmittance in the visible range allowing for true color recognition and high NIR absorption at the same time.
In addition, the filter glass is highly climate-resistant: with a specified coating it stays moisture- and heat-proof, permanently transparent, and corrosion-free for hundreds of hours making it ideal for use in rugged environments. For customer-specific applications, the filter properties can be optimized with additional interference coatings. VG20 is absorbs red and NIR lasers in a wavelength range from 633 nm up to 1064 nm.
