Rostvertol, a production facility for Russian Helicopters, is celebrating its 75th anniversary during 2014. The production plant was established in 1939 and initially produced gliders, light aircraft and the Polikarpov Po-2 biplane. Today, the plant produces helicopters including the Mi-1 and Mi-6 heavy transport helicopters, Mi-24 and Mi-35M military helicopters and the Mi-28N(E) Night Hunter. Rotor & Wing International Bureau Chief Andrew Drwiega visited the Rostvertol plant in October 2013. See more photos and read the story from Drweiga’s visit to the Rostvertol plant.
