Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services-North America has added the AS223L1 model to its FAA certified cockpit voice and flight-data recording (CVFDR) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC). It joins the AS332C and AS332L models that received FAA STC approval last year.
The CVFDR retrofit package is described as light-weight with low power consumption. It includes an underwater acoustic beacon and six-year battery life warranty. An Integrated Recorder Independent Power Supply (RIPS) is optional.
In also has integrated a digital flight data acquisition unit, which can house over 50 flight data parameters.
It is rated at 50,000 hours mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and meets part 135 operating requirements.
