Sandel Avionics has received European Technical Standard Order (ETSO) authorization from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for its Sandel ST3400H HeliTAWS system.
Sandel HeliTAWS meets all requirements specified in the EASA’s ETSO-C113: airborne multipurpose electronic displays, helicopter terrain awareness and warning system (HTAWS), airborne low-range radio altimeter, and ETSO-C118: traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS-I).
“The granting of ETSO certificate for HeliTAWS by EASA illustrates the robust validation of Sandel Products,” said Reb Risty, director of marketing and communications for Sandel. “Along with the recent Russian Service Bulletin, equivalent to an FAA STC, of HeliTAWS, this is major milestone for Sandel Avionics to promote safety in the international airspace.”
HeliTAWS is a 3-ATI self-contained, high-performance HTAWS. Its proprietary alerting technology, TruAlert, enables pilots to take off, cruise, hover and land at off-airport locations without triggering nuisance alerts.
