The annual exposition and convention of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) was staged in Washington, D.C. from Oct. 13-15, 2014, and demonstrated a more upbeat feel than last year’s sequestration blighted event. Bell Helicopter is exhibiting its full scale mock-up of the V-280 Valor advanced tiltrotor at the annual meeting of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) between October 13-15, Washington, D.C.
Kaman is positively discussing the potential reopening of its K-MAX production line with customers. The first production run of 38 of the heavy lifting helicopters has left customers expressing a need for logging, firefighting and general utility use, as well as from the military. An unmanned version was in service with the U.S. Marine Corps in Afghanistan for over two years and the potential for unmanned applications in military and civil sectors is being led by integrator Lockheed Martin.
