The New York Post reports that Tim Hayes, CEO of Gotham Air, is planning to create the "Uber of Helicopters" via his newly-launched helicopter taxi service in the New York City area. The company has already leased 10 new Bell 407 helicopters from Helicopter Flight Service (HFS), which will also be providing the Part 135 flight certificate for the operation. In fact, according to the article, John Kjekstad, who was one of the co-founders of HFS, is also a co-founder of Gotham Air. Very interesting concept and pricing model. What do you think?
