A new association in Myanmar aims to develop the commercial helicopter market in that Southeast Asian nation, formerly known as Burma.
The Myanmar Helicopter Association was launched in mid-May at the Heliops Myanmar Conference and Exhibition in Yangon. It is led by U Tin Aye. His job is to negotiate between international companies and the Myanmar government to facilitate development of the business.
Most helicopters in Myanmar are military, but the country has many offshore and onshore operations that would be aided by helicopters, organizers said.
