July 9 is the deadline for submitting comments on the Public Safety Aviation Accreditation Commission (PSAAC) draft standards on airborne search and rescue (SAR). Interested parties can download the draft standards at www.psaac.com and submit comments by email to email@example.com. Developed by a team of SAR experts, the standards are intended to give federal, state, local and international public safety agencies a set of best operational, safety and training SAR practices. Once the airborne SAR standards are approved for operational use, the accreditation body says, they will be merged with PSAAC’s Standards for Law Enforcement Aviation Units and the Aerial Firefighting Standards to form the Public Safety Aviation Accreditation Standards.
