Fourth Bell 429 Delivered to NYPD

By Staff Writer | July 23, 2015

Bell Helicopter has delivered the last of four Bell 429s to the New York Police Department (NYPD), commemorating the delivery July 16 at the Airborne Law Enforcement Association (ALEA) Expo in Houston, Texas. The NYPD has two Bell 412EPs, a Bell 407 and now four Bell 429s in service for missions including offshore SAR, intelligence gathering and counterterrorism. Bell has been doing business with the NYPD since 1948, when it delivered a Bell 47—the first of the company's helicopters used by an airborne law enforcement team.
