India has approved a $2.5 billion deal to acquire Boeing AH-64 and CH-47 helicopters, according to various media reports. Boeing won the competition to supply the 22 attack and 15 utility helicopters in 2013, but a contract has yet to be finalized. The deal reportedly includes options for 11 Apaches and seven Chinooks. The aircraft are to replace aged Russian Mi-35 attack helicopters and utility Mi-26s flying with the Indian air force.
