Search and Rescue

Sikorsky Aircraft has delivered the last of eight S-76D helicopters to the China Ministry of Transport. The ministry accepted the final two aircraft during a ceremony at Sikorsky’s commercial helicopter center, capping off a series of orders that began in Dec. 2012 with an initial order of four S-76Ds and continued with a July 2013 order for an additional four. In addition to the eight S-76Ds, the ministry’s helicopter fleet, which forms the foundation of China’s airborne search and rescue maritime operations, includes an additional eight S-76-series aircraft.
