FEC Heliport Unveils Alt Energy Charging

By Staff Writer | October 5, 2015

FEC Heliports is launching a new alternative energy charging source for its heliport lighting system. The battery-powered HeliLight Portable LED Helipad Lighting System now has solar- and wind-power charging capability, reducing operators' dependence on backups and permitting use for extended periods and remote environments. FEC is also displaying its FEC Remote Lighting Controller, which integrates traditional VHF pilot controlled lighting with SMS control and monitoring—including automatic weather reporting right from the helipad. Tom Littleford, president of Devore Aviation, also will be at FEC's booth at Stand EO1 to discuss his company's heliport-specific visual approach slope indicator, the HAPI - PLASI.
