Air medical transport helicopter sales are up this October in part due to the Air Medical Transport Conference, Oct. 19 to 21 in Long Beach, California, with many sales having occurred on the event’s opening day. Airbus Helicopters on Monday received orders from Air Medical Resource Group (AMRG) for three H125 and two EC145 helicopters, to be used in community and hospital-based transport. That same day, Bell Helicopter secured a purchase agreement with Dallas/Fort Worth-based CareFlite for a HEMS-configured 429, and Sikorsky Aircraft announced delivery of two S-76Ds to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital for its Angel One team’s use. The following day, Bell also sold eight HEMS-configured 206L-4s to Air Medical Group Holdings (AMGH) for use by its Air Evac Lifeteam. Earlier this month at Helitech International, Yorkshire Air Ambulances (YAA) signed an agreement with Airbus Helicopters for a new H145 equipped with a rescue hoist to be used in the U.K.
