Maverick Helicopters used the Nov. 19 grand opening of its new Las Vegas passenger terminal to fortify its relationships with casino concierges, group tour operators, corporate meeting planners and others who direct air tour customers its way. The new $5 million, 6,000-sq-ft terminal, which is adjacent to Maverick’s existing facility, is set to open for business Nov. 30. That will cap one of the best years for Maverick Aviation Group, that company’s president, John Buch, said. The group includes the air tour operations Maverick Helicopters, Maverick Airlines, Maverick Maui Hawaii and Mustang Helicopters. In addition to the new terminal on Las Vegas Boulevardjust south of the iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada” sign, the group opened a fifth air tour location in Maui. The grand opening included tours of the facility and Maverick Airlines’ fixed-winged aircraft, free helicopter tours of the Las Vegas Strip, photo opportunities in front of one of Maverick’s Airbus Helicopters EC130s and a performance by Las Vegas Strip singer Matt Goss and his band and dancers.
