Russian Helicopters has delivered a batch of five military transport helicopters to the Bangladesh Ministry of Defence. The Mi-171Sh combat-transport helicopters were purchased via state credit under a Rosoboronexport contract concluded in 2013.
The Mi-171Sh is a military transport variant of the Mi-171 helicopter produced at Russian’s Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant. Bangladesh’s new helicopters are equipped with the latest avionics, additional fuel tanks and external slings for transporting large cargos. The country will use them for cargo transportation, border security provision, UN humanitarian missions and in “regions facing complex crime problems,” said Russian on Friday.
