Egypt’s navy plans to acquire more than 40 attack Ka-52Ks for two helicopter carriers it will buy from France. The aircraft’s manufacturer, Russian Helicopters, said the navy is buying 46 navalized versions of the Kamov “Alligator” helicopter through Russia’s weapons-export company Rosoboronexport, with deliveries to begin before the end of 2017. France had planned to sell the Mistral carriers to Russia before the international community established sanctions last year to punish Russia for its actions against Crimea and Ukraine.
