German air rescue service DRF Luftrettung retired its last Bell Helicopter 412 at the New Year, completing a transition to an all-Airbus helicopter fleet in an effort to simplify work processes and reduce costs, said the operator's CEO. While the last 412 was retired at the Nuremberg Airport base, CEO Hans Jörg Eyrich said, DRF Luftrettung still will offer maintenance services for the medium twin to external customers. "We have carried out a fleet adjustment in recent years," said the CEO. The operator is selling its 412s.
