FEC Heliports will be exhibiting its new portable battery-powered rechargeable LED helipad lighting system, HEMS-Star, at this year's Heli-Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, next month.
The system, which is a microprocessor-controlled light, can quickly deploy in temporary and emergency situations for effectively marking of designated helicopter landing areas. It has programmable intensities and colors and can emit infrared to support pilots wearing night vision goggles. It can also display flash patterns, including Helipad Identification Beacon and Morse Code. Each light has a charge management system with a battery life that can last up to 30 hours.
