By Staff Writer | February 25, 2016

The first part of this program will concentrate on teaching flight maneuvers and will present a comprehensive analysis of all maneuvers contained in the private, commercial and flight instructor practical test standards, with an emphasis on common student errors and instructor intervention techniques.
In the second part, attendees will review scenario-based training (SBT) concepts, with the goals of: understanding and applying the FAA/Industry Training Standards (FITS) SBT core concepts for better instruction and pilot development, including opportunities for developing aeronautical decision-making in maneuvers-based training; utilizing personal risk management systems, with an understanding of why they are required and how they relate to total situational awareness; and employing a flight risk assessment/mitigation tool.
The session will be held March 1 at 8 to 11 a.m. in W Hall 5-8.
