By Staff Writer | March 1, 2016

Summit Aviation [Booth 509], a Greenwich AeroGroup company, has been awarded a contract to support the U.S. Army Advanced Threat Infrared Countermeasure Program (ATIRCM). The program is contracted through Cargo PM to support the installation of aircraft survivability equipment on new CH-47F aircraft. Summit Aviation will modify up 150 aircraft.

The ATIRCM equipment is a laser-based anti-missile defense system. The contract includes having Summit Aviation incorporate the structural and avionic components of the system utilizing customer-provided modification work orders and engineering. Once the structural and avionic components of the system are permanently installed on the aircraft, the laser equipment is temporarily installed for live fire testing of the laser system.

Once the aircraft installation and scheduled maintenance is completed, the aircraft is delivered to the gaining unit.
