Helicentre Aviation finalized plans to expand Cabri G2 operations in the U.S., according to a company press release. Company Chairman Chris Line and Precision Helicopters CEO David Rath agreed that Precision would provide Helicentre with parts and maintenance. Precision is the Guimbal distributor to the U.S.
The new facility will open in central Florida this summer with deliveries scheduled for next April. Plans to expand the Florida operation include the ability to conduct EASA training as part of Helicentre Aviation Academy’s existing ATO approval, as well as becoming an FAA Part 141 training facility. The fleet will consist mainly of Cabri G2s, which will also provide opportunities for existing U.S. pilots to gain Cabri experience and allow them to self-fly-hire. The academy intends to acquire a Cabri G2 from Precision in late 2016 or early 2017.
