Women in Aviation International has appointed new board members, who were voted in by other WAI members at its annual membership meeting March 10.
Karen Gebhart, VP of business development for Helicopter Assn. International, was elected for a two-year term as the board of directors’ chair. Gebhart is a private pilot and previously worked for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assn.
Linda A. Markham, president and chief administrative officer of Cape Air and Nantucket Airlines, is another new board member. Previously, Markham was executive VP/chief administrative officer; VP of human resources; and manager of human resources. She is a graduate of Holyoke Community College with a degree in business and retail management.
The board also appointed Lauren McFarland, director of advertising for the Aircraft Electronics Assn. and responsible for advertising sales for Avionics News, the assn.’s monthly magazine as well as AEA’s Pilot’s Guide to Avionics. Lauren manages AEA’s Ambassador Program, which encourages stronger professional relationships between AEA’s repair station members and FAA Flight Standards District Offices. Lauren has a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of Missouri.
