The first class of Bond Offshore Helicopter’s new training program has graduated, said the company. Bond established its first CAA-approved training center for licensed helicopter engineers in December in Aberdeen, Scotland. In the seven-week course, students split their time between the classroom and working on aircraft under the supervision of highly-qualified trainers. Each of the five students is now qualified to sign off engineering work on Sikorsky S-92 helicopters. Technical Training Instructor Bob Findlay said the company already is planning to offer more courses on other aircraft later this year.
