Air Medical Group Holdings will become the first dedicated helicopter emergency medical service in India, set to begin this year.
The U.S. company has partnered with India's Aviators Air Rescue and ordered three Airbus Helicopters H130s. The services are expected to begin later this year, with delivery of the first helicopter by the second half of this year. According to a company press release, Airbus will provide pilot and crew training for the new aircraft, while its India branch will provide the service and support for them.
Local media reports said the firm also plans to purchase an additional seven aircraft starting April 2017. This would extend its services coverage to the entire country.
