Bluedrop to Provide Training For Canadian Cyclone Program

By Amy Kluber | June 22, 2016

Bluedrop Training & Simulation will provide instructors and training for pilots and maintainers learning to operate the Royal Canadian Navy's new fleet of 28 Sikorsky CH-148 Cyclones, which are replacing Sikorsky Sea Kings over the next six years.

The $13 million agreement with Sikorsky calls for the Newfoundland and Labrador-based company to provide 30 technician and aircrew instructors, simulator operation and training program support for the 406 Operational and Training Squadron in Nova Scotia as part of the Canadian Maritime Helicopter Project. It has been providing training to the program since 2010; this agreement will extend that by three years.

The training suite will include two flight simulators, two operational mission simulators, six mission procedures trainers and two aircraft maintenance trainers.
