Associated Aircraft Partners on Med Flights

By Staff Writer | August 23, 2016

Associated Aircraft Group is partnering with Patient AirLift Services to provide transports for needy medical patients, including military veterans, throughout the Northeast U.S.

Patient AirLift Services is a nonprofit organization based in Farmingdale, New York that arranges free air transportation for individuals requiring medical diagnosis, treatment or follow-up who cannot afford or are unable to fly commercially. It also arranges volunteer flights for family members of patients “to ensure patients have support when they are away home for long periods,” the group said. In addition, it assists military personnel and their families with free flights “to aid in the recovery and rehabilitation processes for our wounded veterans,” it said.

Associated Aircraft Group (AAG) is a 25-year-old Sikorsky S-76D and -76C++ operator based at Duchess County Airport in Wappinger Falls, New York. It provides VIP helicopter transportation in the Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York City, Hartford and Boston markets. The operator is a unit of Sikorsky.

"AAG is extremely proud to partner with PALS to provide air transportation at no cost to patients, veterans, and their families," said Scott Ashton, general manager for AAG.  "As a PALS pilot myself, I have seen first-hand how these flights help ease the burden of those in need.  We are grateful for the opportunity to use our fleet of helicopters to provide relief to patients who are undergoing such difficult times in their lives."
