Metro Aviation and West Michigan Air Care have launched an air medical service with the delivery of an EC145e. The service will begin Sep. 1.
Metro President Mike Stanberry said the Kalamazoo-based air medical provider was among the first of 25 programs in the U.S. to receive the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Services certification.
Before this new partnership, WMAC operated under its own Part 135 certificate and contracted with Metro. It has already been operating a Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin, but will determine its permanent aircraft between the Dauphin and the EC145.
