The latest installment in what has been a series of good news for Bell Helicopter’s 505 Jet Ranger X involves another certification, this time from EASA.
“#BigNews,” the manufacturer tweeted yesterday, “the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X has been certified by the @EASA”.

“This is an important milestone for the Bell 505 and the timing of the news is very exciting,” said Glenn Isbell, EVP of customer support and services. “We are hosting our first Bell 505 European operators this month at our Bell Training Academy in Fort Worth and the first aircraft in the region is scheduled to be delivered at the beginning of 2018.”
Last week, Bell announced that the 505’s type certification had been accepted by Argentina's aviation body, Administracion Nacional de Aviacion Civil. It also has certifications from the FAA and Transport Canada, as well as the aviation authorities from Australia, Chile, Guatemala, Indonesia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, South Korea, Argentina and, most recently, Japan, according to Bell.
Bell also received an order for 50 505s from a Chinese customer. During U.S. President Donald Trump’s trip to Asia, Bell said it had received more than 200 commercial helicopter orders from Chinese customers this year.
