East/West Industries is officially a Part 145 repair station. The company said Tuesday it received FAA certification to provide maintenance, inspection and repair on aircraft components.
The company said the FAA had already reviewed and approved its programs, practices, training, quality control, personnel, management and more.
East/West Industries — which designs, manufactures and maintains aircraft seats and other products — moved to a larger facility in Long Island, New York, in June. The new facility includes production lines for each seat program, a 3-D printing lab and high-speed machining. Purchasing the 3-D printer in March 2016 has allowed the company to quickly and efficiently produce designs. East/West said it plans to expand its 75-person team by 40% over three years.
“This is a great achievement and a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire team,” said East/West President Teresa Ferraro. “Earning this FAA certification as a Part 145 FAA Repair Station adds an important new dimension to the work we do every day in support of aircrew safety.”
