Lord Corp. began building a new facility in France to house aerospace electromechnical systems – including its fly-by-wire product line — in September 2017. Tuesday, the company announced electromechanical solutions is becoming its own brand.
Lord’s Fly-by-Wire Systems France, acquired in June 2016, is to become a part of Lord Electromechnical Solutions. That brand would be responsible for products like cockpit control systems and components, electromechanical actuation, active vibration control systems, sensing systems and components, and torque monitoring systems.
“When we acquired Fly-by-Wire, we welcomed a new group of outstanding employees to Lord,” said Joel Rood, president of Lord’s Dynamic Systems Global Business. “While this rebranding to Lord Electromechanical Solutions offers a multitude of new growth opportunities and business benefits, it also signifies to our team members in France that they are an integral part of the Lord family.”
Last September, Lord said the construction had begun at Pont de L’Isère, France. Lord Electromechanical Solutions is based in Saint-Vallier.
