Turbomeca expects to begin flight testing within weeks of the Ardiden 1H engine for Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.’s Dhruv helicopter. Turbomeca and HAL signed a contract in January 2003 to co-develop and co-produce the Ardiden 1H, dubbed the Shakti for the Indian application. Turbomeca expects to produce more than 300 of the engines, with all but the first 60 built in India. First deliveries are now planned for the third quarter of this year; they were originally targeted for December 2006. For related news
