The government of Kazakhstan has purchased a Robinson R44 police helicopter. It is the first time Kazakhstan has purchased a foreign-manufactured helicopter for law-enforcement use. The R44 Raven 2 was delivered in December 2006 to Kazakhstan’s internal affairs ministry. It is to be used to support the police force in the Kazakh capital city of Astana. In addition to the Raven 2’s standard communications package of a radio and transponder, Kazakhstan requested a dual audio controller and police radios installed with a public address system.
