Three months before it opens its Hawk Works @ Schweizer Aircraft, Sikorsky Aircraft is already considering doubling the prototyping and completions center. Sikorsky last June said it would open a 100,000-sq-ft facility this June at Schweizer’s Horseheads, N.Y headquarters for completion of Black Hawk variants not destined for the U.S. Army or Navy. But demand for the International Black Hawk, unveiled at last year’s Farnborough Air Show, and other variants is so high that the first facility “is just not going to have the space required,” Schweizer President Paul Schweizer said. Schweizer will start work on its first Hawk completion, for Singapore, before the facility is open.   For related news
