The U.S. Marine Corps has confirmed officially what it has said for a year or so. It will deploy the Bell Helicopter/Boeing MV-22 Osprey to Al Asad Air Base in Iraq's Anbar province for seven months starting about September, the Corps commandant, Gen. James Conway, said April 13. Marine Medium Tiltrotor Sqdn. 263 is to deploy to Iraq with 10 MV-22Bs. It remains to be determined whether the squadron, known as the Thunder Chickens, will self-deploy or to go to theater on board a ship. For related news
