South Korea plans to decide whether to push for the development of indigenous attack helicopters next year after studying its effectiveness and the geopolitical situation in Northeast Asia, the Yonhap news service reports. The nation’s army has called for the production of attack aircraft in league with the Korean Helicopter Program to produce transport helicopters. Eurocopter has won that program with Korean Aerospace Industries. "We are in the early stage of reviewing whether to pursue the attack helicopter development project. Nothing has been decided yet," Han Young-myoung, chief of the KHP Program Management Office at the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, told Yonhap. "We aim to make a decision around next fall."   For related news
