Omniflight, a provider of air medical services, announced that Jason Hammond, a flight paramedic for the company’s Charleston, S.C. location, which operates as Meducare Air, and a paramedic with Charleston County EMS, is the first place winner of the 12th annual Carolina Competition. Hammond represented Charleston County EMS in the competition, along with Todd McGeorge. The Carolina Competition is a regional program designed to demonstrate the skill and knowledge required to master the extremely rigorous simulations presented to participants during the competition. The competition requires teams of two paramedics to compete over the course of two days in simulated technical scenarios, designed to assess their abilities when reacting to emergency situations and evaluate their treatments of the various injuries that are presented to them in these circumstances.
